What is a Wiki site?

According to Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki site:

A Wiki ([ˈwiː.kiː] <wee-kee> or [ˈwɪ.kiː] <wick-ey>) is a type of website that allows users to add, remove, or otherwise edit and change most content very quickly and easily.

For the Census Output consultation website, the full site is built using the wiki principle. Certain master pages that define the main sections, such as the home page, and the opening blog, 'wiki' and forum pages, are controlled and maintained by Census editors. All users can still attach comments to each page.

Within the main 'wiki' section, users who have joined the site can edit any individual page to modify or add new content, and users can create new pages within the section. Again rather than editing the page content directly, users may also attach comments to each page using the comment functions.
