Hypercubes (Data cubes)

Statistical hypercubes are also known as multi-dimensional datasets, or simply "cubes". Each individual value or observation in the cube is identified as the cross-section between items in multiple dimensions. For example, the value "37" is identified by "geography=Hamwick", "measurement=count", "age=34", "sex=male". Each component in the cube can have its own metadata - the values, the dimension items, the dimensions, and the cube as a whole. For example, Hamwick may have associated boundary information or codes associated with its position within an administrative hierarchy.
