Plans for more detailed findings from the consultation

In an earlier post we featured some initial findings from the online output survey that ran in the first half of 2008, and later mentioned plans to add some more detailed findings in phases, focusing on specific issues or themes.

Hopefully a phased series should allow time for some focused discussion between members of any issues that the findings might highlight, before the next topic is addressed.

We aim to post findings in the following loose order:

1. Respondent Profile
Use and experience of 2001 products and services
Accessing 2001 Census Products
Tabular output
Commissioned tables

2. Value added products
Analysing and presenting 2001 Census data
2001 Metadata
Overall rating of 2001 Census products and services

3. 2011 Output requirements
Access and dissemination

  • ‘joined up’ access
  • Output media

4. Functionality
Flexible outputs
Visualisation

5. 2001/2011 Comparisons
Types of Census products
Joining Census output wit other statistical output

6. Metadata
Products
“Linking” Statistical Output and Metadata

7. Statistical Disclosure Control
Output priorities

So, first up in the next day or two will be some analysis of the people who reponded to the survey - how many, some background, experience of the Census, and type and use of data.

We look forward to seeing discussion and hearing your feedback,
