Welcome to our blog - a place to read and voice opinions about the plans for output from the 2011 Census. Here we will regularly raise topics to prompt comments and start conversation. These will cover issues such as Access, Dissemination, Metadata, and User Support.
Many issues will be prompted by the results on the online user survey which was run in the fist half of 2008. We will publish the full survey results on the website soon, and follow these up with themed discusiion topics. We hope you will join in and contribute your thoughts about the topics discussed by adding replies and comments to each post. We also hope you will take the oipportunity to engage with other users in more detailed discussions using the forum. Scotland’s Census Outputs Consultation Roadshowsby As part of the General Register Office for Scotland’s (GROS) consultation on the 2011 Census outputs, a number of ‘roadshow’ events are being held across the country. These aim to provide feedback to users on the preliminary consultation findings, help stimulate user involvement and provide the opportunity for direct discussion of issues surrounding outputs. Comments (0) Scotland’s Spring 2010 Census Consultation: Statistical Outputsby Scotland’s consultation on the main statistical outputs from the 2011 Census has begun. This consultation is an important part of the General Register Office for Scotland’s (GROS) preparations for the 2011 Census in Scotland. It provides an opportunity for users of census data to help shape the main statistical outputs for the 2011 Census and to comment on a range of related issues. It also lets us give an update on the progress being made across a number of areas that bear on our plans for producing and disseminating the census results. Comments (0) 2011 Output Consultation - Main Statistical Outputsby Consultation on the main statistical outputs from the 2011 Census began 14 December, and is an important part of preparations for the 2011 Census in England and Wales. Comments (0) Autumn 2009 output consultation eventsby October saw the series of successful Output consultation events come to a close. These 6 events in the span of 10 days - taking place in London, Wales, Gateshead, Manchester and Leicester - were a chance to meet and greet, bring everyone up to speed on the latest developments in Outputs, and launch the consultation process. Comments (0) Future output consultation & eventsby Beginning in October, you can have your chance to get involved with output consultation through a series of launch events. These events formally start the consultation process on outputs and will let us explain our plans and vision. Comments (0) Advisory Group feedbackby The Spring 2009 Advisory Group meetings are now drawing to a close. The meetings were well attended, with good discussions and 'on the day' feedback for all of the topics covered and papers presented. The papers included two relating to 2011 Outputs as noted here.
